My name is Helen, and I’m a senior at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. I will graduate in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in public relations.

I chose to pursue PR because I’ve yet to live a day where I don’t dream of a future in the communications industry. I’ve always been an exceptionally creative person and an eminent problem solver, plus I’ve grown exceedingly into a business-oriented person since I began college. Moreover, PR allows me to get involved in every aspect of communications that I love such as writing, advertising, marketing and design.

My current activities include serving as an account executive for my capstone course, PR Campaigns, and interning for the Jacksonville Chapter of the March of Dimes and working on its Signature Chefs Auction event. Furthermore, I previously served as the events coordinator for the American Marketing Association’s collegiate chapter at UNF and as PR director for OneTankMedia, an independent, student-run media source. I’m also a proud member of the Public Relations Student Society of America at UNF as well as the Women in Business Society, among others. In addition to my school involvement, I’m the recipient of several academic scholarships including the esteemed Jacksonville Commitment Scholarship and UNF’s Student Affairs International Learning Scholarship.
